What To Do When Your Boss Messes with Your Workload

What To Do When Your Boss Messes with Your Workload What To Do When Your Boss Messes with Your Workload What To Do When Your Boss Messes with Your Workload Here's a situation: Your manager messages you about a venture she needs to hand over to you, one that had consistently been her duty. Compounding an already painful situation, it's not part of your customary activity. (Model: You're a visual planner who makes print promotions, and your manager needs you to compose press releases...where's the association?). She needs you to do this since she's overwhelmed with other, progressively significant things (not on the grounds that it's a piece of your remaining task at hand, or in light of the fact that it'll profit or challenge you). The issue here? You're similarly as overwhelmed as she seems to be, and can't perceive how you'll have the option to fit this new undertaking into your timetable. This is the place organizing your remaining task at hand turns out to be colossally significant. You realize you're overwhelmed, however you don't know precisely how hindered you are except if you have an unmistakable diagram that demonstrates it. By laying out your needs, you can decide whether you can deal with this new task, or on the off chance that you need to push back and request that your supervisor think of another arrangement. Here's the ticket: Make a rundown of all that you're dealing with, in addition to all that you've been entrusted to do when you finish those activities. Note to what extent each undertaking will take you to finish, at that point attempt to discover some squirm room in the rundown. It assists with knowing when the new task should be finished, alongside a gauge of how much time it'll drain out of your day(s). Your manager ought to have the option to give that data. On the off chance that you can't locate a decent spot for it, and you don't have the ability to choose if you can postpone another task for finishing the enhanced one, you'll need to demand your manager's info. Send her the rundown you made above and just ask Where do you think this fits in so I can appropriately organize my undertakings? With karma, you'll get a mindful reaction and your manager will have settled the prioritization for you. Else, she'll instruct you to utilize your best judgment and you're back to stage 2. All things considered, you'll simply need to suck it up and make it work!

Lagniappe Giving Your Clients Value And Extraordinary Service

Developing the Next Generation of Rainmakers Lagniappe: Giving Your Clients Value and Extraordinary Service Want to stand out from the crowd of other law firms?  Give something to your clients, without expecting anything in return. Surprise a client by offering to spend 1/2 a day or a day off the clock helping with anything the client would find valuable. Why is this a good client development strategy? Because most lawyers and law firms over promise and under deliver. It starts with the firm’s website. If you go to any major law firm’s website, including your own, somewhere on the site you will find the firm’s commitment to its clients. The branding slogan on the Home Page of my old law firm’s website was the first statement: “The Jenkens experience… the experience you deserve.” On that same page we also stated: “It’s not about us. It’s about you. Your business. Your concerns. Your success.” And then: “experience the difference it makes for you.” I once asked our marketing department to explain to me what “The Jenkens Experience” was. I also wanted to know what the “it” was in the phrase: “experience the difference it makes.” I wanted to know because I wanted to make sure my clients knew when they were getting the Jenkens experience or it. No one could explain it to me. Frankly it was just a slogan for a webpage. The only time I ever heard about it from a client was when the general counsel was surprised by how much a bill was one month. He told me that he guessed his company had gotten: “The Jenkens Experience, the experience his company deserved.” What does your law firm website say about the firm’s commitment to clients? Are they just statements on a webpage or do your lawyers actually fulfill the commitment? You would think that since law firms all talk about their commitment to clients, their clients would be happy with their law firm’s  services. Business clients are not happy with their law firms and have frequently made that point. What do you suppose the problem is? Perhaps law firms are too focused on “profits per partner” and associates”getting their hours.” Have you ever heard the term “lagniappe? ” Click on the link to find out what it means. The term is used in New Orleans and other cities along the gulf coast. Just suppose that instead of focusing on “profits per partner” and “associates getting their hours,” your firm actually focused on lagniappe, giving something extra, or going the extra mile for your clients. I practiced law for 37 years developing a national construction law practice representing some of the top highway and transportation construction contractors in the US.

Southwest flight attendant makes a dream come true - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog

Southwest airline steward makes a fantasy work out - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog Stunning. Simply amazing. Tracy Sharp, a lady with Downs disorder, was talking to?Vicki Heath, a Southwest Airlines airline steward, on a flight she was taking and shared that her fantasy was to be an airline steward herself. Heath at that point did pretty much the coolest thing ever: She orchestrated Tracy to join her on one of her trips as an associate airline steward. In the video above you can see exactly how wonderful that went. There are numerous such accounts of Southwest Airlines staff going well beyond (this one is my top pick) and I think it just demonstrates when representatives are upbeat, they are significantly more prone to do pleasant things for the clients and make great recollections for other people.
